When is it happening?
Verbs are doing words. The ending you add to a verb can tell you whether it is something that is being done now (present) or something that has already happened (past).
The most common ending to add to a verb to show that it is something that has been done in the past is ed.

The most common ending to add to a verb to show that it is something that is happening now is ing.

For example:
I walked to work yesterday.
I am walking to work this morning.

Look at the following sentences and decide which ending (ed or ing) you need to add.
Type your ending in the gap.
I help the elderly lady across the road, as it was icy.
I am help my mother with her Christmas shopping.

The broadcaster on the radio is talk about the weather.
My friend came round and we talk until late about her holiday.

I wait for an hour on the platform because the train was late due to leaves on the track.
There are lots of people wait at the bus stop in the rain.

The leaves are dropp from the trees.
Huge hailstones dropp from the sky.

The plane was delay because of the fog.
We are delay starting the journey because of the bad weather.
