Family Learning Week launches at the Elephant

Family Learning Week launched on Saturday 8th October at a popular opening event at the Elephant & Castle shopping centre.

There are plenty of cooking/food preparation courses going on in Southwark. Type in a keyword like 'cooking' on the course search page and have a look at the options you get. Enrol, tuck in and enjoy!

Over 50 families took part in workshops, many going away with lots of ideas of things to do and make, as well as bags full of items made on the day and free promotional materials

As well as providing support for families to engage in learning in the home, there was also plenty of advice available for adults interested in getting back to learning.

Southwark resident, Udumalagala Gamage of SE15 commented:

“Family Learning Week and is very important, especially for people who want to get more information about learning and support”.

If you were not able to attend the event at the Elephant and Castle, there is another FREE Family Learning Week event taking place at Peckham Square/Library on Saturday 15th October, 10:00 – 14:00.  Activities at Peckham include designing and making hats, computer taster sessions and story telling.

Organisations supporting these events include:
